Founded in the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering department at COPPE-UFRJ (the Institute Alberto Luiz Coimbra for Graduate Studies and Research in Engineering, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro), Deprocer manufactures silicon carbide parts, a high-strength material strategic for the country; with applications in engine components, high-wear mechanical seals, and the defense industry such as armor for combat cars and missile parts. The company also develops other advanced ceramic materials for various industrial applications.
